Cookies and Cream / Maple Bacon Donuts


Things have been absolutely crazy lately and I’ve barely had any time to bake on my own, let alone blog about it! I had to make an exception for National Donut Day, though, because what kind of baker/donut enthusiast/human being would I be if I didn’t? I’m a firm believer that there’s very few things better than scarfing down a super delicious donut. Now that I can actually make them whenever I want to (but really, whenever I can go out and spend the cash to do so), I’ve found a new appreciation for these treats. There’s just something about being able to make your favorite things with your own hands and enjoy them, and have other people enjoy them too.

These two particular donuts are too good to choose a favorite. One is made with a maple icing and topped with bacon pieces, and the other is filled with a homemade Oreo dip, frosted with a vanilla icing and topped with crushed Oreo’s. I’ll link the recipes I used to make these bad boys, and here’s a few more pictures in case you wanted to drool over them some more- I know I do! 🙂





Oreo Dip:

Vanilla and Maple Icings (just add some maple extract or maple syrup to the vanilla!)

  • 2 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Start with measurements and add more sugar to thicken, more milk to thin.
